Wide Area 3D Monitor è un plug-in per lo Smart Client™ Milestone© che integra Google Earth all’interno di una view, realizzando uno strumento che
- realizza una rappresentazione virtualizzata delle videocamere nel modello virtuale geografico 3D
- consente a chi gestisce la sicurezza di utilizzare una interfaccia utente immediata e naturale nella sua operativita’
- è in grado di offrire riferimenti visivi ulteriori rispetto a quelli offerti dalle videocamere
- in una situazione emergenziale, completa e integra il flusso informativo tra chi è presente nell’area di intervento e chi gestisce/coordina l’emergenza dalla control room.
Una videocamera è rappresentata sulla superficie virtuale con un placemark, una icona la cui forma e/o il colore possono essere modificati in real time a fronte del verificarsi di eventi configurati in XProtect™ (motion, perdita flusso video, eventi legati ad analisi video, ecc).
Alla ricezione dell’evento possono essere associati comportamenti automatizzati e configurabili, quali il “fly-to” della vista corrente in prossimità della videocamera allarmata, apertura di una view con il live della videocamera interessata, ecc.
A chi si rivolge
La videosorveglianza sta ormai da tempo superando il compito di supportare “la sola sorveglianza“, e questa transizione in atto sta andando verso un mercato in cui il video deve contribuire alla formazione della consapevolezza della situazione (in inglese, della awareness) per aiutare a migliorare l’efficacia, accelerare i tempi di risposta agli incidenti, ridurre i danni a persone e cose.
Chi è chiamato a gestire la sicurezza urbana (security & safety!), a supportare i processi di sicurezza in impianti industriali, di servizio o attività commerciali, che si esprimo in un contesto territoriale vasto, e a cui corrisponde un largo impiego di sensori, non può fare a meno di strumenti evoluti in cui sia possibile ottenere la sintesi e intelligibilità delle informazioni, velocemente e con efficacia.

Wide Area 3D Monitor is a plug-in for the Milestone Smart Client which integrates Google Earth into a Smart Client view. It provides to a Smart Client user a way to
- create a virtualized counterpart of the camera in a 3D virtual model of a geographic area
- manage security devices using a well-known and easy to use user interface
- get additional visual information about the surrounding environment hosting the video cameras
- get, in a crisis situation, a richer set of information which are/can be shared between who is in the operation field and who is called to manage/coordinate the emergency responses.
WA3D represents a video camera on the virtual 3D earth surface by a place mark, as awaited. The place mark is also a “message icon”, whose shape and/or color can be changed in real time matching the occurrence of specific events/alarms configured in XProtect (motion, loss of video stream, events related to video analysis, and so on); the icon is also a container for information and attributes related to the video camera, rather than its “commitment” in that area, and so on.
Events collected by XProtect™ can be associated to automated and configurable behaviors, such as a “flying-to” close the current view of the alarmed video camera, opening a floating view in the Smart Client™ showing the live video streaming, etc.

Video management system is no more called to sustain “only the video surveillance“, and this yet ongoing transition is requiring to move toward a market where the video should contribute to the formation of situational awareness, helping to improve the effectiveness of interventions, to speed up the response to accidents, to minimize damages to persons and properties.
Whoever is called to handle the urban security (security & safety!), to sustain the security processes in industrial plants and crowed areas (mall, fair, etc), which are executed in a broad area and by definition are associated to an extensive use of sensors, needs advanced tools where he/she can obtain the synthesis and intelligibility of information, quickly and effectively.
